In Honor of Independence Day

I give you Hoodoo the chipmunk. We named this little fella after the geological formations commonly found in Bryce Canyon where these pictures were taken. Hoodoo was apparantly quite used to being fed by people and had no problem walking right up to us. In fact, he nearly jumped on my little one trying to get at her granola bar, but I did get some good pictures of him. I couldn't decide between the first and the second. Which do you prefer? The third is just an added bonus.

Tomorrow I'll post some other Bryce Canyon pictures. No doubt they will pale in comparison to my chipmunk pictures, but you'll survive.

I like the second one I think. I like the stuff going on to the left, and the pose and "expression" of the chipmunk. Its like it would be in his vacation slide show ... "here I am at Bryce canyon"!

cute pix!

i actually prefer the first because it makes little hoodoo almost seem human sized.

Just to stir the pot, I will say:

The first is a picture of hoodoo with the canyon as a background. The second is a picture of the canyon with hoodoo for foreground interest.

As a picture of hoodoo, I prefer the first. As a picture of the canyon, I prefer the second.

Actually, I like both of them!

I think both the first and second are equally nice - I would freak if this guy jumped on me.

LOL. The second shot looks soooo comical :)

I like the second one. He look pensive. Here I am, gazing out to ponder the meaning of things...
