I saw this painting during my recent visit to the Santa Ines Mission. The caption reads,
"Martyred 250 AD by the Roman governor, Quintainus because she rejected his advances in favor of her Christian faith. After horrible torture, she was put to death and her breasts were cut off. Her Martyrdom is portrayed in this painting which is a late 17th century Mexican oil on canvas. This painting was restored in the year 2000."I'm just glad mine are right where they belong.

I'm sure your hubby feels the same way.
si! el cortar los pechos era un martirio muy típico de entonces, de cuando el cristianismo no estaba "legalizado"... muchas mártires cristianas lo sufrieron...
:D
