These were growing along the path next to the golf course here. The kids wanted to pick them and eat them, but I decided it was better to be cautious about berries you don't know.
They are not berries, they are wild hot peppers called Chiltepine. They are HOT -- sometimes you will see birds eating them, but birds don't have the ability to taste hot.

I'll tell you this, those berries grow all over Chicago. All the parents say not to eat them.
